The getSpec 2048-spectrometers were developed for low cost fiber optic spectroscopy applications in the UV/VIS/NIR range. These instruments are suited for laboratory, industrial, biotechnology, medical and environmental (mobile) use.
The spectrometers are based on a revolutionary electronics design with a 14-bit multi-channel AD converter, on-board microprocessor and USB / RS232 interface.
The optical bench available for the getSpec 2048 is 75 mm in focal length and can be used for measurements from 200 – 1100 nm, with high spectral resolution of up to 0,1 nm FWHM.
Our getSpec 2048 can be configured as a multi channel instrument, taking spectra from up to 8 channels simultaneously with a minimal integration time of 2 ms. 14 (2 in, 12 out) programmable digital IO ports can be used for external triggering, control of external light sources, shutters or process applications. Please find here: getSpec-2048-COOL some further information about the cooled version.
Different probes can be connected via optical fibers with SMA connectors to the spectrometers.
Beside the windows based sophisticated operation software, there are several add-on application oriented software packages available for color and irradiance measurements, export to Excel routines and for process control applications.
The getSpec 2048 comes in different configurations, consisting of different gratings and slits. The table below will give you an overview of the different versions.
Contact your application engineer to find out which will be the best configuration for your application.

Signal / Noise | 250 : 1 |
A/D converter | 14 bit, 2 MHz |
Integration Time | 2 ms - 60 seconds |
Interface | USB version 1.1, 12 Mbit (RS-232, 115.200 bps available) |
Data Transfer Speed | 14 - 31 ms / scan (depending on pixels transferred) * |
Digital IO | DB-15 connector, 2 Digital In, 12 Digital Out |
Status LED | Green = Power, Yellow = Scan |
Power supply | 5 VDC USB powered |
Dimensions | 175 x 110 x 44 mm |
* In the software you can choose the amount of pixels you want to transfer, for example you want to transfer the data of the wavelength range 350-780 nm, 350 is at pixel 122 and 780 is at pixel 870, than you select this range from pixel 122 till 870 to be transferred, it will speed up data transfer indeed. 14 - 31 milliseconds, depending on the amount of pixels is the transfer time.
